Photoshop Elements or CorrectPhoto?
Good Question! It is one I ask myself on a regular
basis because I use both. Like many of you I consider myself an
Advanced Amateur photographer and an Amateur
Photoshop Elements user. So, for me the decision is based on what
the photo needs to be a good photo. If all it needs is to be cropped
and color corrected (two editing task all digital
photos need) I select CorrectPhoto because it is so
quick and easy, particularly the OneClick color
correction. Here are three articles discussing the use of
CorrectPhoto for the most common photo editing tasks.
Here's what Jacqueline, Charlotte,
NC said when she bought CorrectPhoto:
"I downloaded the free trial, and I love it, it is
easy,
quick and fast to operate. I would recommend it
hands down especially for beginners and those who do not
want to spend a lot of time editing photos, but instead
doing what you love which is photography." |
A Spearfish Canyon Snow Storm-Read
the Story
My friend Bill forwards a photo taken by his neighbor after a 48 inch
snow fall at his cabin in Spearfish Canyon, SD and asks, "How do I get
prints of this?" Before I told him where to go (to get prints, that is)
I decided to fix the photo. So, I opened the
photo in CorrectPhoto, cropped to 4x6 format and
fixed the color by clicking on the grey snow shadow
under the roof. Total Elapsed Time: 17 Seconds. I
added the title with ImageTitler and that added a
little more time, but a lot less than trying to figure out how to add a
title in other photo editors, at least for me.-More-

Photoshop
Elements Users Turns to CorrectPhoto---WHY?
Because it
is easier and faster to do what you need to do!

And, the color is better and the photo is

A True Story
Some time ago a customer
dropped in to visit and ask a few
questions about iCorrect EditLab Pro plug-in he uses with
Photoshop Elements. As he was about to leave I asked him what
kind of image editing he does in Elements and he replied, "I basically
crop, usually to a 4x6 format, and color correct using EditLab
Pro and take the files to my local camera store for prints."

An Easier and Faster Way
"Hmmm",
I said. "Let me show you an easier way". I launched CorrectPhoto
and proceeded to show him fast and easy it is to crop and color
correct and turn average picture into a lasting memory.
(See how
easy it is to turn and average shot into a great shot)
What Every Digital Photo Needs.
Read
the Story
In my opinion, every digital photo needs, as a
minimum, to be cropped and
color corrected.

The Story of the Tall Ships
Read
the Story
My wife and I went to Duluth, MN on Lake Superior to
see the tall ships during a maritime celebration.
Well, as we arrived we saw the line of people waiting to tour the ships
and decided not to do that. So, from across the bay I took a few
photos with my old Cannon G5. After looking at the photos I decided to
do an experiment to compare the basic editing process of
cropping and auto color correction between CorrectPhoto
and Photoshop. Here is my "unbiased"
comparison.

Bashing Elements??
No, I am not criticizing or bashing Elements. It
is a terrific photo editing program and I use it when I have to.
However, when I edit my photos I use CorrectPhoto because typically all
I need to do is crop and color correct and Elements is an overkill and
too complicated and time consuming. And, frankly I get better
color with
OneClick Color Correction in CorrectPhoto and the
cropped photo is sharper.
